A Community First Yorkshire event

Age Friendly Network Winter Meeting

tackling ageism together

Join us for the winter meeting of our Age Friendly Network – an opportunity to connect, share ideas and learn about initiatives that make our communities more inclusive for older people.

Alongside updates on the network’s work, scam awareness from North Yorkshire Council, and the innovative ‘Take a Seat’ campaign in Richmond, we’ll also introduce exciting plans to recruit a team of local ambassadors to be the friendly face of change.

There will also be plenty of time for discussion and reflection, so you can share experiences and strengthen your collaboration.

What will you learn?

By attending, you will:

  • discover practical steps to help older people feel safer and more connected in their communities
  • learn how to spot and prevent scams, with expert guidance from North Yorkshire Council
  • understand how the ‘Take a Seat’ initiative promotes age-friendly spaces
  • explore ideas and resources to make your organisation or community more welcoming for older residents.
  • hear about our new campaign to recruit Age Friendly Ambassadors – and how you can take part
  • connect with like-minded individuals and organisations to share best practice and build partnerships.

Who should attend?

This online session is open to Age Friendly Network members and anyone in the community interested in issues affecting older people.
