Budget and National Insurance changes – navigating the impact on your organisation

How will increases in the National Living Wage and Real Living Wage impact your organisation and the people you support?

In the Autumn budget the Government increased the National Living Wage and Real Living Wage and introduced an increase in National Insurance Contributions (NICs). To offset some of the impact there has been an increase in Employment Allowance. These changes present significant challenges for many organisations in our sector, we know around 3,500 VCSEs in North Yorkshire employ people.

In our recent survey about these changes, 73% of VCSE respondents told us of their concerns. Predicted impacts ranged from reducing paid staff hours and needing to draw on reserves to charging for services – all of which would have a direct effect on support provided to people in North Yorkshire.

This Q and A and practical skills webinar covers the impact of the recent Budget and changes to National Insurance within the VCSE sector and is your opportunity to bring forward any questions and issues relevant to your organisation. You will be given the opportunity to send in questions ahead of the session.

The session is provided by WYCAS Community Accounting West Yorkshire, a specialist in financial management training, particularly with in the voluntary and community sector.
