A Community First Yorkshire event

Community Finance Network: Alternative Fundraising (6pm)

Blue money box on a table

Community First Yorkshire will be facilitating regular informal network meetings for staff and volunteers with an interest in financial issues in the voluntary and community sector. This 2023 network merges and expands the previous Finance Network and the Treasurers’ Network.

This first Community Finance Network meeting will focus on alternative fundraising.

Fundraising is a constant challenge for charities and community organisations. At this session we will investigate some alternative ways you can raise funds.

This network provides a safe space that brings together those who work for a charity in a financial role, or volunteers in a financial role, such as a treasurers of organisations across North Yorkshire to find ways to share ideas and best practice.

During the first half of the network meeting, we will explore some alternative ways of raising funds for your organisation. We will look at ways that may help provide a regular income, along with ways you may be able to boost your existing fundraising.  There will be an opportunity for all members to share and discuss their own fundraising ideas.

The second half of the meeting is for you to ask questions about any issues you are facing, and share experiences with your fellow treasurers and finance officers.

You can either pre-submit your questions by sending them to communitysupport@communityfirstyorkshire.org.uk or bring them along to the meeting.

Who should attend?

This a network meeting for both new and experienced treasurers and finance officers of voluntary community and social enterprise sector organisations across North Yorkshire.
