Event aims

The aim of the network meeting is to provide a forum for community building and village hall trustees across Craven to network and share information, advice, tips and thoughts on all aspects of running a hall.

Who should attend?

This is a network meeting for community building and village hall trustees across the Craven district, especially those that are planning major building works

What will you learn?

In the first half of the meeting we will discuss what to consider if you are planning significant refurbishment, extension or new builds for your hall. We will also explore the new ACRE information sheet on refurbishments and rebuilds. Glusburn Institute, who have kindly agreed to host the meeting, have undertaken a significant a programme of improvements and will be on hand to share their experiences.

During the second half of the meeting there will be an opportunity to discuss any issues you are currently facing with other community building and village hall trustees and Community First Yorkshire development officers.

What’s included

All attendees will receive an electronic copy of ACRE information sheet 23; planning a refurbishment, extension or new build.

Trainer

The meeting will be hosted by Leah Furniss and Joanne Abbott, development officers at Community First Yorkshire. With a short informal presentation from Glusburn Institute on their experience of undertaking a significant programme of refurbishment.
