Getting the most out of Facebook

man on facebook

Facebook is the world’s largest social media platform. It has around 50 million active users in the UK and is popular with people of all regions, income levels, genders, and educational backgrounds. But many of us – especially in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector – don’t have the budget to hire dedicated staff or third-party agencies to run our account.

This informative and practical workshop will help you make the most of Facebook for your organisation – vital when you have limited time and resources.

What will you learn?

To ensure you get maximum benefit from this training, the group size will be limited, and the content will be tailored to meet the needs of the group. We will send you a short survey when you register to help us understand your training needs.

While we will tailor the content, broad areas we are likely to cover include:

  •  The importance of Facebook
  • How to create compelling and engaging posts
  • Using the Facebook algorithm to your advantage
  • The difference between Pages and Groups
  • Practical examples of what works and what doesn’t
  • Using Facebook to recruit and inspire future employees/volunteers
  • A chance to share your own experiences and learn from others
  • How to schedule posts in advance and work smarter
  • Facebook features explained, including Stories and Reels
  • Facebook Insights and analytics
  • The importance of scheduling and calendars
  • A brief overview of the Meta Business Suite (please note for a deeper analysis of the Meta Business Suite, we will run a future advanced course).

Who should attend?

This training is for staff or volunteers who have responsibility for Facebook and social media as part of their role. Volunteer coordinators will find this training particularly useful.

You should have a working knowledge of Facebook – but be in a position where you need help to increase engagement, create content and use some of the platform’s more advanced features, such as scheduling and analytics.

Please note this training is aimed at voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.

What’s included?

After the training, we will send you a pack containing all the advice, tips and links discussed during the session.  You will also be able to pass on follow-up questions to our trainers, SRX Consultancy, who will offer practical support (via email or a quick call) to ensure you are able to put everything you learned into action.
