A Community First Yorkshire event

Improving your Instagram skills

Instragram application on the phone

We’ve all heard that a picture is worth a thousand words. With Instagram, the image-led social media platform, you could be sharing story-telling gold to attract support and volunteers.

But how do you get the most out of Instagram to make it Insta-mazing for your organisation or group?

We’re all limited by time and resources, and not many of us have the budget to hire dedicated staff or third-party agencies to run our account.

What you need is a bitesize training session where experts share their top tips on making the most of Instagram for your organisation – and we’ve got just the thing.

Event aims

Please join us for this informative and practical training workshop from our social media partners, SRX Consultancy. They will deliver an overview of how to best utilise Instagram for your organisation.

This live, interactive training will be delivered over Zoom.

Our social media workshops are popular, please book early to avoid disappointment.

What will you learn?

We want to make this workshop as bespoke as possible. The group size will be limited and a survey will be sent out when you register to help us understand your training needs.

The workshop will be tailored to meet the needs of the group but is likely to cover the following areas:

  • Using Instagram to recruit and inspire volunteers.
  • How to create compelling and engaging visuals.
  • Best use of Instagram’s design features such as filters.
  • A breakdown of the best affordable third party image tools.
  • A discussion on copyright and crowdsourcing imagery.
  • Profile design and grid templates to set you apart.
  • An overview of Instagram stories and how they help your brand.
  • Practical examples of what works and what doesn’t.
  • A chance to share your own experiences … both good and bad.
  • Scheduling and analytics tools such as Hootsuite and Loomly.
  • The importance of strategy and calendars.

Who should attend?

This training is for staff or volunteers who are responsible for Facebook and social media as part of their role. Volunteer co-ordinators will find this training particularly useful.

You should have a working knowledge of Instagram – but be in a position where you need help with increasing engagement and/or some of the platform’s more advanced features, such as those listed below.

Please note this training is aimed at organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.
