Event aims
We are partnering with Diversity and Ability to deliver this Inclusive Communications training.
The training will work to improve your understanding of disability, neurodiversity and assistive technology and highlight the small changes that can have a huge difference in accessibility and engagement.
This engaging training session will be delivered live over Zoom.
Who should attend?
This training is for staff or volunteers who have communications, marketing and customer experience as part of their role.
Please note this training is aimed at organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.
What will you learn?
The training aims to:
- Create a safe and inclusive training environment
- Increase awareness, understanding and confidence around disability and neurodiversity
- Discuss the benefits and purpose of inclusive communications
- Share the simple steps you can take to adapt your content to be inclusive and accessible
- Give a run-down of the different inclusive practices across all main channels and your websites
About the trainer
Diversity and Ability (D&A) are an award-winning disabled-led social enterprise which supports organisations to create inclusive cultures where diversity is valued and people can thrive.
The training will be facilitated by Nikita Montlake, Inclusion and Specialist Needs Assessor.

Refunds
Attendees can receive refunds for cancellations up to 7 days before the event date.
Cost
This event is free to organisations in North Yorkshire with an income of up to £5k thanks to funding from North Yorkshire County Council.
Places for other organisations are £12 each (£10 +VAT).
If you are a small organisation that would struggle to attend this training, a limited number of bursary places may be available. Please contact communitysupport@communityfirstyorkshire.org.uk or 01904 704177 to discuss this further.
