North Yorkshire Equality and Inclusion Partnership Meeting Wednesday 10 April 2024, 2-4pm 

This Partnership brings together colleagues from the voluntary and community sector and partner organisations from across North Yorkshire to discuss a range of topics. The aims of the meetings are to provide a forum to:

• increase partners’ understanding of the issues facing people with protected characteristics in North Yorkshire
• ensure organisations making decisions about services delivery and investment are aware of the issues people face, and take steps to address the issues
• create links between partners to share good practice, plans and provide feedback on plans and changes to services.

The draft agenda for Wednesday 10 April 2024 meeting: 

• North Yorkshire Census data and the make-up of the North Yorkshire population with a focus on protected characteristics – discussion and intelligence sharing
• Focus on LGBTQ+ people living and working in North Yorkshire – discussion about the challenges and issues people of all ages experience accessing services, interaction at work, engagement in their local communities and having their voices heard. Review and report on actions in response to the Healthwatch North Yorkshire LGBTQ+ report 
• Working with health – Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership Workforce Development Breakthrough programme – update and discussion of increasing inclusivity in the workplace
• York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, Devolution and Adult Skills programme development
• Increasing inclusivity – sharing resources
• Impact of the cost of living crisis – sharing local intelligence and responses.
