North Yorkshire Equality and Inclusion Partnership Meeting Wednesday 10 July 2024, 2-4pm 

This Partnership brings together colleagues from the voluntary and community sector and partner organisations from across North Yorkshire to discuss a range of topics. The aims of the meetings are to provide a forum to:

• increase partners’ understanding of the issues facing people with protected characteristics in North Yorkshire
• ensure organisations making decisions about services delivery and investment are aware of the issues people face, and take steps to address the issues
• create links between partners to share good practice, plans and provide feedback on plans and changes to services.

The draft agenda for Wednesday 10 July 2024 meeting: 

• Focus on Hate Crime in North Yorkshire – NY Police perspective on the current situation, on-going projects, plans and information about the hate crime team.  Discussion of local issues and actions for VCSE groups to take
• The future of North Yorkshire’s Disability Forums – discussion feeding into the consultation about the future role and remit of both the North Yorkshire Disability Forum and local disability forums
• Refugees and migration in North Yorkshire
• Working with health – VCSE Expo showcasing the work of the sector (see pages 4/5) and further update on the Workforce Development Breakthrough programme
• Increasing inclusivity – sharing resources
• Impact of the cost of living crisis – sharing local intelligence and responses.
