Safeguarding for Trustees and Management Committees

Two hands enclose blue, green, and red figurines in a circle

Safeguarding: it is everyone’s responsibility to protect people from harm or abuse. It applies to every charity or community group – not just those who work with children or adults at risk.

If you are a trustee or on a management committee, you have a responsibility to prioritise the safety of anyone who comes into contact with your organisation or group whether they are beneficiaries, volunteers, staff or visitors.

This live interactive workshop will develop your confidence in safeguarding matters and ensure that you are up to date with the latest good safeguarding governance.

Alongside our other training, we can support you in your role managing a village hall and ensure you are meeting the Charity Good Governance Code.

What will you learn?

Participants will develop their knowledge and understanding of:

  • Safeguarding duties and responsibilities within your organisation
  • A Designated Safeguarding Lead and what this involves
  • What you need in order to be compliant with good safeguarding practice
  • How to access a range of up-to-date informative resources on good practice
  • How to access further safeguarding policy and procedure support beyond the session.

You will leave the training with practical tools to help increase the effectiveness of your organisation or group.

Who should attend?

This training is suitable for trustees and members of management committees who want to develop an understanding of safeguarding matters.

Please note this training is aimed at organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.
