A Community First Yorkshire event

Volunteer views and brews

Are you a volunteer who manages volunteers? Perhaps you’re a trustee responsible for recruiting other trustees? Or maybe you’re a CIC director overseeing volunteer recruitment and training?

We know that building, training, and leading a volunteer team while being a volunteer yourself comes with its own unique challenges. Maybe you’ve taken on extra responsibilities over time without access to training or support, and you’re starting to realise just how much is involved in doing the job well – especially when volunteers are the backbone of so many charities and community groups.

We’re excited to invite you to the third gathering of our new informal network, created specifically for volunteers who recruit, train, and manage other volunteers. We’d love you to be part of it.

Meeting online every quarter, for an hour over a cuppa, this network is designed to connect you with others who share your experiences, exchange ideas, and build a supportive peer group. These mini gatherings are tailored just for volunteers, offering guidance, shared learning, and the chance to support each other in your roles.

Join us and be part of this growing community!

What will you learn?

Our quarterly online get togethers are designed to give you the space to share, ask questions, and build meaningful connections with others in similar roles. There’s no agenda – just come along and contribute if you wish. Let’s just see where the conversation takes us.

Let’s make this a welcoming, supportive, and productive environment. Together, we can learn from one another and enhance the volunteering experience for everyone involved.

Who should attend?

This network is for volunteers who lead or supervise other volunteers. This includes trustees of charities or directors of CICs who have responsibility for volunteer recruitment and training.

Please note this meeting is aimed at volunteers who represent voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.

What’s included?

All participants will be sent any presentations or notes taken during the meeting.
