Writing Funding Applications

Tell your story to secure funding!

Increased demand for funding has left grant-makers inundated with applications and competition is fierce. Understanding how to put together a great application will increase your chances of gaining the funding you need.

Are you a charity or community group professional looking to communicate your organisation’s work and its impact in funding applications? Join our ”Writing Funding Applications” workshop, an interactive session designed to enhance your bid writing and make personal connections to funders. Telling your story is vital and demonstrating how your work makes people’s lives better is an important element in a successful bid.

This Royal Literary Fund training will give you the confidence to craft that winning application and boost your bid writing skills.

What will you learn?

This workshop will guide you through the process of project planning while helping you to understand the key principles of writing applications and avoiding commonly made mistakes. Through writing exercises and discussion, you will explore:

  • How to understand what funders want
  • Interpreting funding criteria
  • Clarifying your objectives and outcomes
  • Developing a structured approach to planning, writing and editing a funding application.

This workshop is suitable for delegates with little to no experience of writing funding applications.

Who should attend?

This workshop is ideal for charity leaders, project managers, and anyone involved in fundraising and outreach efforts.

Please note this training is aimed at voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.
