Beyond Doubt: cultivating confidence and quieting the inner critic

event quote

Does presenting your charity or organisation’s work sometimes feel overwhelming? Whether you’re speaking to funders, volunteers, staff, trustees, or the public, this interactive course with confidence consultant Stef Bricklebank is here to help.

Join a supportive group environment designed to celebrate your achievements while boosting your confidence. Stef will guide you through practical techniques and tools to help you better understand yourself and others. Learn how to present with clarity and passion – so your mission shines through every time you share it.

Feel more empowered as you explore areas such as:

  • Exploring your inner monologue – what is it saying and why?
  • Learning to notice and articulate both your own and other people’s achievements in a more confident manner
  • Learning how to be free of other people’s judgements and become more optimistic in your approach
  • Exploring choice, connection, and competence
  • Learning to empower yourself – and others – for better mental health
  • Improving your self-empowerment through individual, pair and group work.

What will you learn?

By the end of the training, you will:

  • Identify your barriers to taking initiative
  • Explore the use of language for personal empowerment
  • Learn the seven keys to personal empowerment
  • Complete a personal action plan
  • Have greater belief in yourself, your abilities, and your contribution to a range of environments
  • Know what positive self-talk, mindfulness, and setting realistic goals, looks like for you.

Who should attend?

Trustees, staff, volunteers and leaders at all levels who are either new to their roles or would like to refresh their levels of confidence when presenting themselves and their organisations in demanding situations.

Please note this training is aimed at voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.

What's included?

Refreshments will be provided along with copies of all resources used. The session will involve working on a personal action plan.
