We are thrilled to have North Yorkshire Fire Service’s Business Fire Safety Team at this meeting.

We’ll look at the renewed fire safety guidance, which came into force on 1 October 2023, and how these changes affect community buildings. We will also explore what measures you can take to make your buildings as safe as possible.

There will also be an opportunity to raise any issues or concerns you may have about any aspect of fire safety.

If you have any specific questions you would like to put to the network, please submit these before the meeting.

Please note this training is aimed at voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.

All attendees will receive a copy of the presentations and notes from the session.

Vicki Sharp and Hilary Ashton are Development Officers with Community First Yorkshire’s Community Support North Yorkshire team.

Vicki has most recently worked as a Volunteer and Operations Manager at a Museum Trust where she oversaw energy and phone contracts as well maintaining all operations including access and environmental objectives. She has also worked as a Youth and Community Development Worker across the previous Harrogate District. Vicki volunteers at The Ritz Cinema in Thirsk.

Hilary has worked as a Development Officer at Community First Yorkshire for 6 years and the previous 10 years as part of the Senior Management Team at a charity in Leeds. Hilary is an experienced trainer and has delivered many sessions on governance issues.
