A Community First Yorkshire event

Fundraising for Parent Teacher Associations

NEW FOR 2023: Raising funds for school projects can feel like a challenging task, the merry-go-round of cake sales, tombolas and dealing with the extensive wish lists from teachers can be exhausting!

This session is aimed at PTA and Friends of School groups that are responsible for raising funds for their schools. The training will provide you with the skills you need to maximise your fundraising and make your efforts go further.

We will explore different kinds of fundraising methods including grant funding, fundraising events and online fundraising platforms, leading to a much more productive (and less exhausted) PTA!

By the end of the workshop, you will:

  • have an increased knowledge of potential fundraising events and activities
  • understand the legal requirements around fundraising and events
  • understand grant funding for school groups and how to access it
  • understand how to maximise your fundraising opportunities including match funding schemes and Gift Aid
  • understand how to raise money online using fundraising platforms such as Easy Fundraising and Give as you Live.

Who should attend?

  • voluntary groups responsible for raising funding for school projects.

Please note this training is aimed at voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.
