Safeguarding responsibilities for trustees and management committees

Ensuring safety for all

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility – and as a trustee or member of a management committee, your leadership is vital in creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone your organisation supports.

Join our online workshop designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to address safeguarding concerns effectively. You’ll gain practical insights into current safeguarding governance, understand your legal and ethical responsibilities, and learn how to demonstrate your commitment to the wellbeing of beneficiaries, volunteers, staff and visitors.
Whether you’re part of a charity, community group, or village hall management committee, this session will help you align with the Charity Good Governance Code and strengthen your organisation’s safeguarding culture.

What you’ll gain:

  • Up-to-date safeguarding guidance tailored for trustees and committee members
  • Confidence to lead on safeguarding issues within your organisation
  • Tools to help meet governance standards and protect those you serve.
  • Take the lead in creating a safe and secure environment for all and make a positive impact in your community.

What will you learn?

Participants will develop their knowledge and understanding of:

  • Safeguarding duties and responsibilities within your organisation
  • A Designated Safeguarding Lead and what this involves
  • What you need to do to comply with good safeguarding practice
  • How to access a range of up-to-date resources on good practice
  • Beyond the session, how to access further support on safeguarding policy and procedure.
