Secrets to great report writing

Reports are the backbone of organisational writing. Most of us will need to write them at some point in our careers.

What’s the secret to a great report? What writing strategies can you employ so that your report is easy to digest and engaging?

This Royal Literary Fund training will help refine your report writing skills, turning your narrative into an effective tool for sharing information and presenting solutions.

What will you learn?

This online workshop will help attendees write reports that convey messages effectively and efficiently. Through writing exercises and discussion, you will discover how to organise information and approach the different stages of producing a report from initial ideas to the final draft.

You will also learn how to:

  • explore the essential elements of writing a report
  • understand the role of storytelling in reports
  • formulate a structured approach to report writing
  • build skills in selecting and sequencing relevant information
  • practice editing and proofreading.

Who should attend?

Whether you’re a staff member or a volunteer, this training will help you with report writing and generally improve your written skills.

Please note this training is aimed at voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.
