Volunteer Co-ordinators Network Meeting

Involving and Supporting Volunteers with Criminal Records

Join us as at this Volunteer Co-ordinator Network meeting where we will look at the positive impact that can result from meaningful engagement and participation of volunteers with previous criminal records. We will explore procedure and mechanisms for inclusive volunteering including DBS and Risk Assessments.

This session will help you to build confidence around recruiting people with previous convictions.

It will also introduce you to the key theory relating to criminality and its links with volunteering. By the end of the meeting you will:

  • feel more confident when recruiting people with criminal convictions as volunteers
  • understand where it would and wouldn’t be appropriate to recruit a person with criminal convictions
  • know how to have conversations around disclosure and risk management and what to do if things go wrong.
  • If you have any specific questions you would like to put to the network, please submit these before the meeting.

Who should attend?

This is a network meeting for volunteer co-ordinators from across North Yorkshire to come together to share information, advice, tips and thoughts on all aspects of volunteer management.

What's included?

All attendees will receive a copy of the presentations and notes from the session.
